Truck Driver

Our client, Jeeta Transport Services Pty Ltd is looking for a skilled Truck Driver to join their team. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport freight safely and efficiently between designated locations.
• Plan and follow appropriate routes to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Comply with all applicable road rules, transport legislation and company procedures.
• Perform pre-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate records relating to pick-ups, deliveries and freight movements.
• Obtain required signatures or delivery confirmations upon collection and delivery of freight.
• Attend site inductions and comply with all safety requirements during loading and unloading activities.
• Secure freight appropriately using straps, chains or other suitable restraints to prevent movement or damage during transportation.
• Check freight weight and distribution to ensure axle weights and vehicle load limits comply with legal requirements.
• Accurately record driving and working hours in the log book.
• Communicate effectively with fleet managers, customers, depot staff and other drivers.
• Assist with loading and unloading freight by correctly positioning vehicles and operating lifting or tipping mechanisms where required.
• Keep management informed of demerit point status where required.
• Maintain the truck in a clean and presentable condition, both internally and externally.
• Carry out routine vehicle safety checks, including checking brakes, lights and other essential components, and promptly report any mechanical or maintenance issues.
• Follow traffic management plans and safety procedures at all depots and customer sites attended.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.
• Follow all company policies and procedures at all times.

Eligibility Criteria:

• A valid commercial truck driving licence.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of driving experience.
• Sound knowledge of loading and unloading freight, including weight management requirements.
• Sound knowledge of road legislation and transport safety procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical.
• Ability to complete an annual medical, where applicable, for drivers over the age of 50.
• Ability to complete a National Police Check.
• Appropriate work rights or a valid working visa.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
