Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies

• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation

• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff

• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures

• Preparing and cooking food

• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations

• May select and train staff

• May freeze and preserve foods

Requirements for the job

• Be able to speak Vietnamese

• A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience, or a diploma-level qualification or higher

• Strong planning and organizational skills for managing food preparation and cooking processes

• Knowledge and ability to plan and organize the preparation and cooking of food in a busy environment.

• Plan and add new menu items based on seasonality, customers’ preferences and feedback

• High standard of food safety and hygiene practices

• Ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team effectively

• Be physically fit

• Full time availability, always available on weekends and public holidays

• Able to do both morning and evening shifts across a 7-day roster, and to follow flexible weekly timetable

• Have good time management skills, be well organized and capable of multitasking

• Reliable and have a positive attitude

• No criminal record

• Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or residents

Remuneration and Hours

• Pay: Hourly $24

• Pay rate: Minimum $24/ hour, Maximum $24/ hour

• Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
