Automation Test Engineer

Compensation Range: NZD$80,000 to NZD$110,000The salary range listed reflects the base pay for this role at Altus Group and is provided where required by local regulations.

The range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, equity, benefits, or other incentives.Reporting to the Development Manager, the Automation Test Engineer is a hands‐on testing specialist who will take ownership of our QA automation function and drive the evolution of our testing approach.
As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be involved and passionate about delivering high‐quality software through innovative testing solutions, designing and implementing automated testing frameworks that ensure the reliability and performance of our products.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure and maintain QA automation frameworks.Design and implement automated test scripts for web, cloud, and integrated systems.Drive the evolution of testing approach, define standards, release readiness criteria, and maintain clear test plans aligned to delivery cycles.Work closely with development teams in a modern DevOps environment, integrating CI/CD pipelines.Identify defects early, support UAT, and evaluate tools and frameworks.Partner with QA Lead, developers, and stakeholders to ensure product quality.Key QualificationsProven experience as an Automation Test Engineer with a track record of building frameworks from scratch.Hands‐on expertise with Playwright, Selenium or equivalent frameworks.Strong understanding of testing methodologies, defect tracking, and SDLC principles.Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Postman.Comfortable working in UI, backend and API testing with exposure to technologies such as C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML.Proactive, detail‐focused, and confident working autonomously with genuine ownership of product quality.Degree or Diploma in relevant fields and Quality Assurance certification preferred.Must have the right to work in New Zealand.What Altus Group OffersCompetitive compensation, incentive and bonus plans, and a total rewards package prioritizing mental, physical, and financial well‐being.Growth and development opportunities through the Altus Intelligence Academy with over 150,000 hours of learning materials.Flexible Activity‐Based Work model, allowing you to work in the office for collaboration and remotely for focused tasks.Inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity and inclusion, with an active commitment to accessibility and equal opportunity.Equal Opportunity EmployerAltus Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible work environment.
