About the Role
As a Service Technician / Trade Assistant , you'll provide hands-on support to the maintenance team, assisting with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance across the underground mobile fleet and fixed plant.
Working alongside Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians and Fitters, you'll help ensure equipment is maintained safely and efficiently to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with servicing and repairing underground mining equipment

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections

• Assist with component change-outs and mechanical repairs

• Carry out lubrication, cleaning and workshop housekeeping duties

• Operate tools and workshop equipment safely

• Assist with breakdown repairs underground and in the workshop

• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment

• Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams

• Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the operation

About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Service Technician or Mechanical Labourer

• Experience working with heavy machinery, mining, construction, quarrying or industrial equipment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely

• Current Driver Licence

• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental performance

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

Desirable

• Previous experience within underground mining or heavy industry

• Trade qualification or apprenticeship in progress (Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Fitting, Auto Electrical or similar)

• Forklift, EWP or Working at Heights tickets

• Current First Aid Certificate

• Confined Space certification
