Employer: SSS Growers Pty Ltd Location: COFFS HABOUR NSW 2450 Salary range: $75000-$85000 Duration: At least 5 years Job description: Our client, SSS Growers Pty Ltd is a farm in regional NSW that grows blueberries and blackberries of different varieties and aims to provide our customers with fresh and quality produce. SSS Growers Pty Ltd is looking for a skilled Facility Supervisor to Join their team. Tasks:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of packing sheds, grading lines, cold rooms and storage areas handling blueberries and blackberries
- Liaise with farm managers to plan daily intake from fields, labour requirements and packing schedules based on harvest volumes.
- Coordinate and supervise farm workers and seasonal contractors involved in packing and facility-based operations
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, waste handling and quality standards, including berry-specific handling and biosecurity requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of sheds, cool rooms, grading equipment and machinery, and arrange maintenance or repairs as required. Oversee cleaning and sanitation of packing areas, equipment and storage facilities to meet hygiene standards for fresh produce.
- Manage stock levels of packaging materials such as punnets, cartons, liners, as well as chemicals and operational supplies.
- Supervise harvesting support activities, including sorting, grading, packing, and dispatching to ensure all berries meet required size, quality and market standards
- Monitor post-harvest handling, including precooling, temperature control and storage conditions to maintain the freshness and shelf life of different berry varieties
- Coordinate the dispatch and transport of produce.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping of all stages/processes for quality assurance, including daily production, packed volumes, rejected or damaged fruit, and labour allocation.
- Implement and monitor workplace health and safety procedures across all facility operations, including safe equipment use and manual handling
- Support audits, inspections and buyer requirements by maintaining documentation and ensuring facilities are audit ready.
- Identify workflow gaps within packing and storage operations and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce wastage and maintain product quality
- Have at least relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualifications and have 2 Years of working experience in a similar role in a farm setting. or equivalent or 3 years of employment experience with formal training OR 5 years of experience without formal training.
- Attention to detail and quick decision-making to address quality issues, equipment failures, and operational challenges.
- Proficiency in quality control and adherence to standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to coordinate with various departments and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Strong organisational skills are also essential for managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
