Senior Advisor - Procurement Excellence Special Projects

Shape procurement practice at an enterprise level Work on complex, meaningful challenges Contribute to a more consistent, capable and effective organisation Te whiwhinga mahi - Our opportunity Were looking for a Senior Advisor Procurement Excellence to help design and embed the frameworks, processes, and tools that enable great procurement outcomes across our organisation. This is a role for someone who enjoys turning complexity into clarity-and wants to see their work adopted at scale. Reporting to the Principal Procurement Partner Excellence, youll play a key role in lifting procurement capability across K inga Ora. Youll lead work to: Design and evolve procurement frameworks, policies, processes and tools, with a focus on aligning to v.5 of the Government Procurement Rules Simplify and standardise how procurement is done across the organisation Deliver improvement initiatives that increase consistency, confidence and effectiveness Build capability through training, coaching, mentoring and practical guidance Support organisation-wide initiatives, including technology modernisation and regulatory uplift (e.g. Modern Slavery) Co-ordinate information gathering for reporting, OIAs, audits, etc. This is a highly visible role, working across procurement, the wider business, and with external stakeholders. Ng pumanawatanga ou - What you will bring Deep public sector procurement experience 7+ years hands-on procurement experience in complex environments Strong understanding of what works (and what doesnt) in real delivery settings Credibility with practitioners and stakeholders Good understanding of the Government Procurement Rules A passion for structure, clarity and design You enjoy creating frameworks, processes, templates and guidance that people actually use You take pride in producing clear, practical, well-structured outputs Youre comfortable working through detail and seeing work through to completion A continuous improvement mindset You naturally look for ways to simplify and improve You challenge unnecessary complexity Youre motivated by making things easier for others Strong influencing and capability-building skills You can bring people with you-through engagement, training and coaching Youre comfortable facilitating sessions and embedding change You can translate policy into practical application Desirable: Experience in a procurement capability or excellence role or similar environment Construction or infrastructure procurement experience MCIPS or progress toward certification.
