About the Role
Our Psychiatry services are some of the largest and busiest
in New Zealand.
Psychiatric training in Christchurch is run in conjunction with
the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago's
Christchurch Clinical School.

Permanent full-time Psychiatry Registrar, training and non-training
positions, available, commencing in January ****.
Based principally at our
dedicated psychiatric site (Hillmorton Hospital), but with rotations to our
other metropolitan hospital sites.
* Gain experience in general psychiatry and a
variety of sub-specialties.
* Work towards RANZCP Fellowship, a specialist
qualification in a growing area of need.
* Join a supportive, cohesive group of registrars.
* Excellent support from consultant supervisors.
* Training program works in close collaboration
with an internationally recognised research department (The Otago University
Department of Psychological Medicine).
About you
* Previous experience in Psychiatry
is an advantage but not necessary.
* Knowledge and commitment of Te
Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
* A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and
skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
* You must be eligible for general or provisional general
registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
