Psychiatry Registrars - Training And Non-Training - Waikato District 2026

Permanent full‐time.
Successful applicants entering the RANZCP training programme will commence in February ****.About the RoleTraining stages:Stage1 (Year1) – predominantly inpatient psychiatric services.Stage2 (Years2‐3) – six‐month rotations across key specialty areas such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Consultation‐Liaison Psychiatry, Drug and Alcohol Services, Community Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, and Crisis Services.Stage3 – advanced training within a chosen subspecialty of psychiatry.Support includes experienced clinical supervisors, structured supervision, protected psychiatry education on Wednesdays, teaching covering the RANZCP syllabus, structured training in main psychotherapeutic modalities, multidisciplinary team learning and clinical review meetings.ResponsibilitiesProvide inpatient psychiatric care, participate in rotations, attend structured supervision and teaching sessions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to clinical review meetings, and prepare for RANZCP written examinations and work‐based assessments.QualificationsPGY3 or equivalent.Intention to undertake StageI RANZCP training or already working as a house officer or non‐training registrar.Interest in the Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry.Willingness to broaden clinical exposure.Eligible to work in NewZealand (international doctors must self‐review the MCNZ self‐assessment tool).
