About the Role As an Analyst, you will provide analytical support to our Primary and Community teams, helping turn complex data into clear insights that inform planning, investment and service decisions. Working alongside senior and principal analysts, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across a diverse portfolio of work including investment planning, cost and service modelling, health insights, performance and monitoring. You'll work closely with commissioning teams to scope analytical requirements, develop repeatable tools, analyse and visualise data, and communicate findings to a range of audiences. You'll also play an important role in bringing analytical thinking into service design and development early in the process. Your insights will help ensure new models of care are evidence-based, effective and equitable, with a strong focus on improving Māori health equity and outcomes across other population groups. About the Team and Location You'll be part of a collaborative team of analysts within Planning, Funding and Outcomes, working alongside senior and principal analysts and partnering with national and regional Primary and Community teams. The role works across a broad network of colleagues, including Data and Digital, other Health New Zealand business units and functions, sector representatives and government agencies About you You'll have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience scoping, extracting, collating and analysing data. You'll bring strong analytical capability, with experience using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, R or similar , together with an understanding of quantitative statistical methods and how to apply them to generate meaningful insights. You'll be comfortable working with complex information and ambiguity, and able to translate analytical findings into clear, practical advice for different audiences. Experience in the health sector would be advantageous. You will bring: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights. Experience working with data extraction, processing, analysis and interpretation. Advanced Excel skills and experience with tools such as Power BI, SQL, R or similar. The ability to develop repeatable analytical tools and effective data visualisations. Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor insights to different audiences. A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams. Curiosity, adaptability and a commitment to continuous improvement.
