Coordinator, Governance and Corporate

Te Puni Kōkiri

Our Office of the Deputy Secretary, Governance and Corporate team is looking for a Kaituitui | Coordinator . This role provides essential coordination and administrative support to enable the effective delivery of the Governance and Corporate Puni work programme.

The Governance and Corporate Puni promotes high quality decision making, integrity, resource allocation, and risk management. It connects Ministers and the Ministry, monitors statutory entities, and drives consistent Crown practice in Treaty settlement commitments. It also supports the effective operation of core corporate functions, including finance, property and procurement, people, capability, and culture, and legal services.

Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity

The Coordinator provides day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the Office of the Deputy Secretary, including diary management, meeting scheduling, logistics and travel coordination, ensuring work runs smoothly. You’ll also support the Business Manager, stepping in when needed to maintain continuity across the team.

Working across the Governance and Corporate Puni leadership team, the role keeps information flowing, coordinates document processes, tracks deadlines and key actions, and supports small-scale projects, to contribute to effective workflow of the Puni.

The likely appointment range is $60,032 - $80,042 based on skills and experience. This will be pro-rated for the period of the fixed term.

Mōu | About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience in a similar administrative or coordination role.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and planning skills.
  • Be able to prioritise your workload, successfully organise work, meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Understand project management processes and practices.
  • Have a high degree of computer literacy, including intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have an understanding of the machinery of Government.
  • An understanding of the importance of te reo Māori in te ao Māori and are comfortable in an environment where te reo Māori is spoken and tikanga is observed.
