Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Construction Informatics

Position Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Construction Management, specializing in Construction Informatics, to join the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Design at the University of Auckland.
This permanent, full‐time contract is 40 hours per week, with a salary range of NZ$99,788 – $158,904 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver research‐informed, industry‐relevant teaching in construction management and construction informatics.
Design and enhance curricula to meet professional and accreditation standards.
Incorporate emerging technologies and sustainable practices into teaching and research.
Supervise honours, masters, and doctoral students.
Establish and maintain a high‐impact research programme focused on construction informatics, including areas such as digital engineering, BIM, digital twins, artificial intelligence, automation, information management and related technologies.
Publish in top‐tier journals, contribute to design standards and guidelines, and present at conferences.
Engage with industry, government, and technical societies to ensure research relevance and application.
Contribute to service roles within the Department, Faculty, and University.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering and PhD in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Outstanding, internationally recognised research profile with a sustained record of high‐impact publications in top‐tier journals.
Demonstrated success in securing significant, competitive external research funding, preferably as principal investigator or demonstrable capability to do so.
Proven excellence in teaching, including leadership in the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in construction management.
Strong record of postgraduate supervision, with the ability to attract and mentor high‐quality research students.
Track record of industry engagement and a practical understanding of sector challenges, nationally and internationally.
Compelling, forward‐looking vision for the future of construction management education and research in a global context.
Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in teaching, research, and service.
Professional membership (e.g., CMEngNZ) or eligibility for membership is desirable.
