Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Services Of Older People

About the Role
As a psychologist you will play a valuable role in the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities range from assessment—including neuropsychological assessments, psychological testing and treatment—to providing individual psychotherapy for whaiora/whanau.
You will also support the team through supervision and teaching.
About the Team / Service / Location
The MHSOP team is multidisciplinary and currently includes 3 psycho‐geriatricians, 1 full‐time and 1 part‐time clinical psychologist, mental‐health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and cultural support.
The team has a strong focus on community care but also has access to four beds within the acute inpatient area.
The service provides specialist assessment and treatment in outpatient clinics and in people's homes including care facilities.

We will also provide a comprehensive orientation process so that you become familiar with our service and the wider mental‐health sector in Taranaki.
About You
Doctor of Clinical Psychology or equivalent; Clinical Psychology Scope of Practice.
Registered and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate from the NewZealand Psychologists Board.
Have at least two years post‐registration experience.
Preferably have experience working with older adults, neuropsychology and CBT.
Committed to team working and contributing to team success.
Understand and apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, with a culturally safe and appropriate approach to practice.
