About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed‐term role supporting the rollout of the House Officer Primary Care Pathway into districts.

This role offers an excellent development opportunity for someone with strong change management skills looking to broaden their experience at a national level.

Working closely with the RDSS Operations Lead and the wider RMO Unit teams across the motu, you will contribute to shaping how Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) experience training in primary care, while supporting districts to successfully design, implement and embed new rotation models.

As the Primary Care Pathway Change Lead, you will work at the centre of a high-impact national programme supporting districts to introduce and embed primary care rotations.

Key focus areas include:

* Supporting Districts to design and refine run descriptions and rostering models
* Leading and supporting change management and stakeholder engagement
* Identifying and resolving barriers to implementation
* Developing best practice models, templates and processes
* Supporting run review and continuous improvement processes

About the Service

The Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) supports the efficient delivery of a well, well‐trained medical workforce for today and into the future. Our small national team works closely with a strong network of local Resident Medical Officer (RMO) units to support resident doctors throughout their training, education and employment journey.

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

* Confidence working with clinicians, managers and system stakeholders
* Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills
* A collaborative and adaptable approach
* A commitment to developing your capability, including growing confidence in te ao Māori, tikanga, and equity‐focused practice

We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate many of the following:

* Knowledge of, or strong interest in, the resident doctor, medical workforce or wider health sector environment
* Health workforce operations, service delivery or RMO support
* Change management and/or programme implementation
* Stakeholder engagement across clinical and operational groups
* Rostering, workforce planning or run description development (highly desirable)
* An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles, with a commitment to ongoing learning and application
