Title: Trade Marketing Assistant
Reports to: Manager, Marketing
Level: Entry level
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Key Responsibilities:
• Visit assigned retail stores on a regular call cycle to ensure product presence and brand visibility;
• Co-operate with Sales and Marketing team, assisting to plan annual promotion, product launches, track projects and campaigns;
• Work closely with external partners to deliver and manage POS production required in the implementation of campaigns and projects;
• Maintain and implement product displays, ensure shelves are tidy, stocked, and compliant with visual merchandising standards;
• Replenish stock from store reserve, rotate stock inventory, report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, and ordering needs to the sales team
• Lead, train, brief and motivate a team of in-store demonstrators to ensure high performance and professionalism, e.g. product knowledge, key messaging, and demonstration techniques.
• Ensure promoters comply with hygiene, safety, and store-specific guidelines during demos
• Oversee planning and execution of demonstration schedules across designated retail locations, including planning, budgeting, briefing, execution, post-campaign reports, invoicing and analyses.
• Coordinate with internal marketing, sales, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of samples, demo equipment, and promotional materials
• Conduct field visits to monitor demonstration quality, team performance, and customer engagement
• Capture and report consumer feedback, customer interaction data, sampling results, promoter attendance, consumer response, stock usage, and promotional impact
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new demonstration staff as required
• Conduct in-store demonstrations during weekdays and weekends
• Monitor and report competitor activity, including pricing, displays, and promotions
• Visit retailers, restaurants and foodservice partners to gather insights and share with sales and marketing team

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; further qualifications in marketing or business a plus
• Strong attention to detail and coordination
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using mobile reporting tools (e.g., SalesIQ, Microsoft, google form or similar)
• Physically fit – able to lift and move stock and build product displays
• Flexible to work weekends or extended hours during promotions and events
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
