Sr Network Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sr Network Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain all client Network systems associated with SONET, DWDM and Optical networks and circuits;
- Complete all circuit and hardware testing and turn-up for the network;
- Provision configuration on equipment;
- Work with field technicians to setup test services and confirm sites are functioning normally;
- Assign IP addresses, VLANs, and etc.
Requirements:
- Networking standards and/or related degree with advanced knowledge;
- Ability to install and maintain operating system and utility programs, application configuration information and operational script execution;
- Knowledge of Juniper, Cisco, or other types of carrier class routers and switches;
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and IP subnetting;
- Experience working for a Telecom provisioning the carrier (PE) equipment;
- Experience in designing and implementing network;
- Experience working in the telecommunications industry is a must;
- Intermediate Networking and MS Office Skills;
- Preferred experience Layer 1 or 2 Provisioning;
- Knowledge of DSL and/or fiber technologies;
- Experience testing and troubleshooting circuit issues;
- Minimum 5-7 years technical experience in Network and Systems or software engineering;
- Excellent English skills, both written and verbal skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field;
- Dell Networking N Series, Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k NX-OS, Cisco ASR 9k/1k IOS-XE OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Cisco ASA, FTD.
