Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the review and enhancement of the credit limits to ensure the business exposure strategy is met;
  • Monitoring key metrics and interpreting findings;
  • Use data-oriented approach to work with others in solving complex business problems around profitability, marketing, risk, and operational analysis;
  • Assisting Credit Risk Manager and Senior Credit Risk Analysts on key projects;
  • Run statistical models to forecast portfolio risk and monitor trends;
  • Conduct analysis to determine the impact of changes to application and account management strategies;
  • Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy and sensitivity of findings;
  • Present ideas via reports and presentations, outline findings and make recommendations for improvements to business stakeholders;
  • Produce risk reports as part of the monthly risk reporting processes;
  • Align risk reporting to meet Shareholder requirements;
  • Test the implementation of strategy changes to live decisioning systems;
  • Perform standard and ad-hoc statistical analysis to investigate trends and support Credit Risk decisions;
  • Updating and maintaining financial models (3-way models and debt sizing);
  • Part of credit team with main focus on credit monitoring and compliance;
  • Reviewing reporting and analysis of investment performance.

Requirements:

  • Strong willingness to learn;
  • Numerate Degree (BSc, BCom, B Bus Sci, B Eng.);
  • Be able to review own work with attention to detail;
  • Advanced computer literacy skills with a high proficiency in MS Excel, SQL or SAS;
  • Would benefit from courses in Advanced Mathematics, Computer Programming, Economics, and Operations Research;
  • Working knowledge and exposure to processes such as Banking or Retail Credit;
  • Credit Risk Analysis on lending products;
  • Key personality traits: independence, creativity, detail oriented, organized and ability to multi-task, persistence, and humility;
  • Thorough knowledge of the daily operations of credit functions;
  • Writing business cases and expressing complex information simply;
  • Able to critically analyse and problem solve;
