Our company is looking for a Cruise Staff to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively interacts and socialises with all guests;
  • Promotes entertainment activities;
  • Welcomes guests and assists them at all times during the cruise;
  • Looks after entertainment tools and equipment;
  • Handles complaints and queries;
  • Ensures that the content and entertainment activities are professional and non-offensive to the audience;
  • Attends and hosts events as directed;
  • Ensures all entertainment presentations and entertainment activities are delivered to the highest standard;
  • Informs Cruise Director of any complaints;
  • Shows an interest in and knowledge of the wider entertainment world with Guests;
  • Socialise with guests in public areas in accordance with company procedures;
  • Host and participate in adult and family recreational programs and activities;
  • Assembles and disassembles pre and post activity props and equipment;
  • Maintain continual interaction with guests;
  • Participate in greeting and directing guests on and off the gangway when the ship has arrived in ports of call.

Requirements:

  • At ease with public speaking;
  • A recognised medical certification is required before starting to work on board;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Enthusiastic and creative;
  • Professional certificates are an advantage;
  • Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy;
  • High School graduation certificate;
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a professional entertainer (Hotels, Camping, Cruiselines, etc.);
  • Degree from a college/University in theatre, performance or dance preferred;
  • Ability to speak a high level of English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests;
  • Other language skills are desired (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German);
  • Proven people skills along with conflict resolution, counselling, mediating and motivational skills;
  • All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position;
  • Completion of high school or basic education;
  • Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with a microphone.
