Kore Hiakai is looking for someone to join our Wellington based team 20 hours a week as our administration and communications support.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, a basic knowledge of the history of Pacific Peoples in Aotearoa, a willingness to understand systems change/ transformation as well as food security and the food system.

Kore Hiakai Zero Hunger Collective is committed to addressing the root cause of food related poverty and working with others to create a food secure Aotearoa. We recognise that food insecurity is driven by systems but experienced by Pāpatūānuku and people. We aim to bring together whānau, iwi, hapū, community, farmers, fishers, growers, manufacturers, distributors, philanthropy, local and central government. Together we can build Te Tiriti grounded, long term, sustainable, mana centred solutions to ensure all people, at all times, have agency and access to enough nourishing, affordable, sustainably sourced, culturally appropriate food. This is a Food Secure Aotearoa.

This part time (approx. 20 hours) position is located at the Kore Hiakai offices in Pipitea, Wellington.

The focus of the position is to support the Pou Ārahi in their day-to-day tasks, administration of the Kai Rawa Trust, Kore Hiakai kaimahi team and the Kore Hiakai Zero Hunger Collective through:

administration (of the following):

1.1. Kore Hiakai Zero Hunger Collective membership

1.2. Aotearoa Food Parcel Measure and dashboard

1.3. our regular stakeholder engagement information

1.4. the community food distributors map

1.5. assisting with events, engagements, travel and accommodation

and shaping the communications of Kore Hiakai through

2.1. our website

2.2. our regular panui and maintaining the recipients list

2.3. regular social media engagement

2.4. assisting with any external communications as needed

2.5. maintaining the Kore Hiakai Tone of Voice framework

Salary

$40,000 - $50,000 actual / $80,000 - $100,000 pro rata
