About the role:

We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Commercial Business Partner to join our Corporate and Commercial Services group of the Selwyn District Council.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager Property and Investments, this role partners with stakeholders across all levels and functions within the Council to deliver on better outcomes for Selwyn. These outcomes are informed by the Long-Term Plan, Annual Plan and the Economic Development Strategy.

We are looking for someone to join us permanently, full-time who is results focussed, can work autonomously and enjoys collaborating with a number of different stakeholders. About you:

We are a small team with a mighty workload and if you are able to bring strength in financial modelling, development of business cases and commercial experience, this will play to your advantage. We are seeking someone who has proven experience with driving business outcomes within a commercial environment, influencing data-informed decision making, collaborating across business functions, and contributing to strategy development and implementation.

You will have demonstrated experience in the following areas;

5+ years commercial/financial analysis (essential)
5+ years developing and managing financial models (essential)
Property related analysis
Business case development and writing
Improving reporting through the development of dashboards (desirable)
Reviewing contractual documentation with a working knowledge of the legal frameworks in which the contract resides.
Proven track record of developing effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders at a senior level
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
Highly motivated, achievement-oriented and innovative professional.
Bachelor's Degree (NZQA Level 7) in Commerce, Law, Accounting
