Our company is looking for a Project Engineer / Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Experienced and responsible for the management of the design of all phases of a project or study and execution programming of the project/study;
  • Ensure that engineering and design risks are identified, analysed, evaluated, resolved and communicated;
  • Ensure that engineering resourcing and competency levels are planned, monitored, controlled and reported for assigned studies and projects;
  • Ensure that engineering work packages are produced and delivered to support supply chain and construction management;
  • Ensure that technical solutions embody agreed design for safety, operability, maintainability and constructability objectives;
  • Responsible for the forecasting, control and management of the engineering manhour budget;
  • Assists the Technical Director with the responsibility for the management of the engineering personnel within the business unit;
  • Ensure the engineering and design deliverables are defined, planned, monitored and controlled throughout all pertinent project life-cycle stages;
  • Assists the Technical Director with the responsibility for planning of resource allocations per project;
  • Assists the Technical Director to comply to the Wood Operational Assurance requirements;
  • Accountable for the project / study engineering schedule.

Requirements:

  • Basic to Working knowledge of Civil and Electrical Engineering disciplines;
  • Flexible working arrangements required;
  • Proven track record in managing high performance professional teams;
  • 5 years’ experience in Project Management in EPC and EPCM multi-disciplinary industrial environments;
  • Project Engineering and Project Management Skills;
  • Sound knowledge of JBCC, NEC, GCC, FIDIC and other relevant suites of building contracts;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills;
  • ECSA Registration;
  • A post-graduate qualification in Project Management will be a distinct advantage;
  • NEBOSH, SAMTRAC or similar SHE qualification(s);
  • Sound knowledge of procurement mechanisms and tender development;
  • 30% of time (Regional & International);
  • Sound theoretical knowledge and technical ability for installation leadership of Water and Wastewater plant and equipment will be advantageous;
  • BSc, BEng Mechanical Engineering or similar;
  • General knowledge of engineering sciences and technology applications in the water and wastewater treatment fields will be advantageous.
